City and nights

The city is filled with faces, mask in opalescent hue
Mulatto women with flawless flanks, giving reality its due

Night conspires illuminations, and dark places to escape
Partial visions of men, women, and a shadow in luxuriant shape

Ghostly scenes at the corner of an empty street
Strangers crawling for life beneath the unfolding night

The wisest of men wander, in the homeless realm they hide
With lofty minds they penetrate our failed suicide

Avenues, freeways, push the thought a little deeper
Glossy lakes, gravestone statue of a fading flower

Our city filled with freaks, desire, visions of peril thoughts
Mysterious nights, blackouts, exotic tattoos, city and nights.
